Yaxley-Lennon: Not an MEP, Not a 'People's Champion', Just a Nasty Thug

10/06/2019

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon attacked a football fan from behind before England's match in Portugal

Yet again, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon has shown his vile behaviour whilst attending a football match, punching a man from behind in an unwarranted assault.

Yaxley-Lennon had been posing for photos with supporters yards from the stadium, when the unnamed football fan walked past him: “You don’t represent us all, Tommy. You definitely don’t represent me." the fan said. Yaxley-Lennon is frequently known by the name Tommy Robinson, one of a number other names Yaxley-Lennon has used.

It appears that Yaxley-Lennon asked the fan what he had said and, when he repeated it, then threw a drink over him. The fan then walked away, only to have the racist thug come up behind him and punch him in the side of the head, knocking him to the ground.

It appears unlikely that a criminal prosecution will arise, as the victim has refused to make a complaint to the police given the risk of harassment or attacks from Yaxley-Lennon's followers.

I can only hope that he is back in prison soon, for the contempt of court he still faces charges for.  What would be really good is to start educating these hateful xenophobes and removing their platform for spreading hate.  Yaxley-Lennon has been banned from some social media platforms, but more needs to be done to stop him inciting hatred.
