Six years heading up Lloyds of London, a truly international operation, gives this businessman a lot more credibility than most Brexiteers.
However, as ever, his letter in the Financial Times will no doubt be dismissed by many die-hard nationalists who would rather see us breakaway from the EU and fail, than admit that our membership was worthwhile.
Our politicians, who are supposed to work in the national good regardless of the actual politics of each decision, are not facing up to their responsibilities.
