St George: An English Hero?

On St George’s Day, no doubt many UK based white supremacist groups and Islamaphobic hate groups like Britain First will celebrate their Englishness.

In the same way they ignorantly believe Jesus was a white dude, they’ll claim St George as an English hero.

However, we know he was born in Cappadocia (now part of Turkey) and never visited England.

I’m not that interested in Saints and would prefer we dropped St George’s Day in favour of Shakespeare’s Day.
