Police have had to visit Scotland’s chief medical officer, Catherine Calderwood, to issue her with a formal warning about her conduct, after she visited her second home in Fife in breach of her own advice to avoid travel.

Calderwood has been used in TV adverts for the Scottish government, in which she says; “To help save lives, stay at home.”
Calderwood has had to apologise after being pictured with her family taking a walk with their dog through the East Neuk, which is about 45 miles from her main home in Edinburgh.
Calderwood is under intense pressure to resign, but I believe she should actually be sacked, as she cannot surely command the respect of Scotland’s residents. Chief Constable Iain Livingstone said his officers had visited her at her main home in Edinburgh on Sunday morning, formally warning her about her breach of safety regulations.
It is, I believe, completely unacceptable for someone with such a responsible position, at such an incredibly uncertain and (for some) scary time, to instruct others to do something, then fail to adhere to the instruction herself.
