I understand that teenagers, like everyone else, are frustrated at the idea of having to self-isolate or distance themselves from others; especially their friends.
Some, probably most, teenagers are complying with the requirements; not happily, but positively and actively.
However, there are still some who are not adhering to the restrictions that have been introduced and are instead acting recklessly and behaving in an anti-social manner.
In Bristol, a group of teenagers created havoc which ended up with them setting fire to two Iceland delivery vans; impacting the delivery of food to those who need it.
In Liverpool, teenagers took to the roof of the Halewood Leisure Centre. It took the police an hour to get them to come down.
In Andover, a group of teenagers verbally abused a woman on her permitted exercise walk who questioned the fact that the group were congregating; in direct breach of the instruction to avoid gatherings of more than two people.
It seems likely that these are just a few examples of what is happening around the country.
Please, if you have children, explain the need for compliance with the government guidance. We really are experiencing challenging times and, without the cooperation of everyone, the death toll of this virus will be far higher than it needs to be.
