I haven't previously shared police alerts via this page, but am considering doing so going forward.
Fraudsters are scamming significant amounts of money from vulnerable people, often retargeting the same victims.
Don't buy goods or services from people who knock at your door or 'cold call' you on the telephone. If they are promoting a product or service you think you might want, do some research before making any decisions. Ask yourself, "why is this product service being sold through the medium of 'cold calling'? If the vendor is offering a quality service, they would most likely be able to generate new business from word of mouth, referral or more professional means of advertising.
When buying products or services, try to get alternative quotes from at least three vendors. Check out reviews on the internet; both of the product or service itself and of the potential suppliers.
If you have any doubts about things, talk to a friend or relative.
