And now for something not Brexit related.
I have friends who worked for the different branches of our emergency services. They do an incredibly difficult, demanding and sometimes dangerous job.
Anyone that makes a hoax call should not just be ashamed of themselves, they should be made to pay for their crime.
If you witness someone making a hoax call, don't laugh along with them. Don't ignore it and think it's someone else's problem.
Take action.
If possible, stop the call from being made. If you can't stop it, make sure you are there when the emergency services arrive and are able to inform the first responders of what has happened. Make sure you report the offenders to the police.
Lives are lost because vital resources are sent to deal with hoax calls and are therefore not available to promptly deal with genuine emergencies.
This is never acceptable. It is never funny. It is never excusable.
