I watched this afternoon's rugby between England and Ireland from a recording, as I was watching a film with my son when the match kicked off.
Before the game, the commentary team mentioned that Ireland would, for the first time ever, become the No. 1 World ranked team if they beat England.
Well, they didn't manage it.
The performance from England was simply fantastic and Ireland couldn't cope with the onslaught. The scoreline at the end showed a record breaking victory for England over Ireland.
England 57 - 15 Ireland
Ireland were, early on, ahead 5 - 7 after a try that appeared (to me at least) to have come from a clear forward pass.
As we head towards the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, today's performance has to be a confidence booster for England's hopes in the tournament. Eddie Jones said "we deliberately curtailed our preparation fr this game, so went in a little bit under-prepared", and he expects the performances to get much better!
I can't wait!
