Corbyn: "We can't stop it. The referendum took place. Article 50 has been triggered."

Labour's support would be crucial to any fresh vote on the Brexit deal but the party remains hugely divided on how to square the pro-European support in big cities with Leave voters in their traditional heartlands.  Jeremy Corbyn has been vocal in the past in his criticism of the EU and has been clear he doesn't support a 'People's Vote'.

In the unlikely event that Theresa May were to call another general election and this resulted in a Corbyn led Labour government, it is clear that he would press ahead with the UK's planned departure from the European Union, ignoring the catastrophe of the referendum campaign (the lies and the breaches of electoral rules) and the implications for the country, as well as the groundswell of public opinion that is clearly in favour of a second referendum or a vote on the final deal.

Without a doubt, the right thing to do would be to have a 'People's Vote' on the deal that is finally agreed between the UK government and the EU.

Any other outcome will be viewed historically as a betrayal of the British people.
