The BBC, and others, are making much of the decision of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to hold a private ceremony for the christening of their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
It seems the royal couple can do no right; had they decided on a public event, no doubt they would have been heavily criticised for the cost of it all.
The BBC inexplicably also have linked the decision for a private ceremony, to the recent news about the cost of renovating their home. That, in itself, was reported in a manner that placed the emphasis on sensationalism, rather than fact.
A quick search with the ever-obedient Google shows that when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had Prince George christened in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace, it too was a private affair for he close family and friends of Prince William and his wife.
So, why is the press so intent on attacking Prince Harry and Meghan?
I honestly don't know what their motivation is. Whatever is behind these unwarranted attacks, it is time that questions were asked of the so-called journalists writing the stories or presenting this as a worthwhile news story.
